So I don't even know where to begin... several days off in a row and three concerts in a row.
guess chronologically?
I'm working at a bakery/cafe right now as well as at the bar... BUT BLACKS JUST CALLED ME AND I'M WORKING THERE THIS WEEK
Thursday was the first day off... and that night was the Goldfinger show at the Koolhaus... what a shitty location for a venue... meh. we walked there and tried our best to enjoy the opening bands, but both that we saw were really quite bland. Although the vocalist for the start had a HOT voice.... Goldfinger went on... lost Liam pretty quickly and enjoyed the first half of the set in the pit. Until some jackass behind me decided he needed to be tossed onto my head to body surf (I was the only one in that area so I don't know where else he thought he was going to land). It was a slower part and nobody was moving... so I was standing upright... and far louder than the music I heard my spine crack from the top of it to between my shoulder blades... any harder and I'd have been going to emerg... for sure.
The show was good... but I hurt far too much to really enjoy it after that... bastard.
Friday night my brother had a show and Liam and I headed out on the subway to catch that... where we ran into a small group of the same French neo-nazi fucks we'd seen downtown one day. They'd been bugging everyone, but when they came to us, it was obvious that with Liam being a skin sporting an anti-swastika button that we were about to be their targets. They just kept circling us like a pack of wolves... we jumped off a few stops early and waited around for another subway car.
Most of the other bands ... sucked. Although there was one really good ska band I enjoyed. Perish played pretty well... although rob, the drummer is out of practice... for sure.
Saturday night: Belvedere. the show kept getting moved around, but my brother got ahold of the singer and found out it was at the 360... insane. They put on a good show, but they lacked the care they usually have for their shows... le sigh. still love them though. Bought a dvd with them and Captain Everything ... There was some jackass there though that ended up cracking open his skull in plain sight of me... and I almost passed out. I've lost all ability to handle it. It was disgusting. All I saw was him falling and the blood, but shit...
ummmm yeah... still excited from that phone call and stuff's great...
