I saw the much hyped Children of Men last night.
It was above average, but it wasn't as good as I expected. The best thing about it was the amount of times Clive Owen said the word "fuck". He has a way with that word which most people don't.
I also rather enjoyed seeing Julianne Moore get shot in the neck. After her roles in the likes of The Forgotten and Freedomland she deserved some kind of maleficent death. Michael Caine was good, as usual...
I guess my problem was with the plot, and the ending. Maybe I missed the point, but seeing the way people reacted to the baby it would make sense to me to go public with it, thus getting that overly goochie-goochie-ga-ga reaction from the entire world rather than a small refugee camp in Britian, and made a much better ending than drifting (but NOT drifting) in a dinghy waiting for a ship to pass a buoy... so very bloody dramatic...

Go see it, but make sure you go to a theater that sells beer at the concession stand, thus ensuring at least a bit of sastisfaction from an otherwise unsatisfactory experience.
