On Sunday I leave for St Thomas... So gorgeous I can't wait. I am so thankful I have been afforded the opportunity to experience such experiences. What is the meaning of life? Relationsips & experiences...
Does anyone notice how selfish people are? Why is that? What have we done as a society to move people into a box, into their personal space where they think they have no moral or social responsibility? It seems people think that so long as they are making money with the hope of making more money that they will eventually find contentment. How many of you are trying to get ahead? Where is "ahead"? How do you know when you get there? Greed will be the downfall of our society. When does ambition become greed? How much is too much and who makes such rules? I believe that there is something morally wrong with ExxonMobil making record profits with record prices, that Wal-Mart robs entreprenueral opportunity from local businesses. But why? What is wrong with it and how do we control it? Money lends itself to corruption, to the exploitation of "lesser" peoples. The haves employ the have-nots, which is good for the have-nots, because they may have because of their employment, but how do the haves share the wealth, give back to the people without the government's intervention? It is not the government's responsibility to tax the haves for the purpose of wealth redistribution, it is a personal responsibility of the haves to look out for the people who helped them get where they are today. Who really needs $100million? How does that make you a better, more content person? How does that make you a larger contributor to society than the bum on the corner of Van Ness and California?
Tell me SG, what do you think are the causes and the solutions for our social ills? What are you doing to use this forum to broaden your constituency?
