So, umm, Wow! Fucking Wow! Massive Attack rocked my world. Such amazing performances, such an amazing show. Horace Andy, Daddy G, Shara Nelson (I'm pretty sure that was her), Robert Del Naja, everybody was amazing. Martina Topley-Bird gave an shockingly good opening performance and was also fantastic singing with Massive Attack during the headlining show, and I'll definitely be checking out her solo work now.
I was also gratified to notice that the text on the backdrop during the show included a couple of quotes from Eugene V. Debbs.
Highlights for me were "Safe from Harm," "Risingson," "Angel," "Intertia Creeps," "Future Proof." And, of course, "Unfinished Sympathy in the encore."
I couldn't really even begin to describe the show. If I go on, I'll just keep using superlative adjective after superlative adjective. Suffice it to say that this show is up there with Underworld in a tent performance during Coachella 2003 as one of those concerts so amazing it damn near changes your life.
