I just found out that my friend Cat was in town for the weekend. She moved to San Francisco last May and doesn't come home to visit very often. She teaches exotic dance lessons and had a training thing in Philly this weekend so she sent everyone an email on Thursday. Unfortunately for me, I didn't check my mail until today. Sucks!
The kids at work almost brought me to tears yesterday. I was alone with them for the first time. The two girls tried to take advantage of me all day, one of the boys was a little hellion, and the other boy was just obnoxious. I called XWellThenX in the middle of the day and when he called back later, he actually heard the hellion growl at me. I was so happy to finally get out of there. I have the next three days off. I need them. Badly.
I want to give an official hello to Doke who recently joined the site. He is my awesome blue friend. Everyone go say hi to him!
I am so excited. I just got off the phone with this awesome woman who I have been getting to be friends with. We talked for over an hour and made plans to get lunch May 2. We were getting to know each other through Cat before she moved but since then the growth of the friendship has been pretty slow. I am psyched; I really enjoy talking this woman. Ive been hoping to make new friends because my life has been changing a lot lately and she is definitely a good one to make.
My mom and I rented Intolerable Cruelty so Im going to go check it out. I heard it wasnt very good but its George Clooney and the Coen Brothers so those are two things working in its favor. Well see.
I will leave you with this thought
I saw Heartbreaks on Friday. Overall it was a silly, predictable movie, but towards the end, Ray Liotta and Sigourney Weaver have a really interesting conversation that hit home with me. Ray Liotta had a really good point. I could only find the end of the conversation online, but here it is:
Max Conners: I'll protect her.
Vinny Staggliano: From what? From love?
Max Conners: From pain.
Vinny Staggliano: Love is Pain. Life is pain, you can't protect anybody from it. It's always gonna getcha. But sometimes life can also be good, but you gotta be open. You gotta takes chances. You gotta let go.
