Today was almost completely unproductive. Since I had the day off, I was planning on getting a ton of stuff done that I have been putting off for two weeks because Ive been too tired. I didnt get up until around 11. Then I sat around doing absolutely nothing for a while. (Damn, that felt good!) After sitting around, I did make some phone calls that really needed to happen, but I think that was all I accomplished today. That wasnt how the day was supposed to go. I can partially blame my lack of motivation on this site. I got completely got sucked in. I think I sat down at my computer at 1pm (10am PST). I did go out for coffee with a friend in the middle of the day, and I have also talked to people on AIM and written some emails, but I spent the majority of the day on this site. I think I may have to join SGA (Suicide Girls Anonymous.) You know, no sooner did I type those words than I realized the easiest way for this to happen was for me to start a member group, which would kind of defeat the purpose. Oh well. I guess I dont really have a problem as long as it doesnt interfere with my job. In reality, I wanted to catch up on what I had missed in the last week and also wanted to avoid all real-life human contact because I have had so much this week. I think I will really savor my time alone from now on.
That was a long, rambling paragraph. I hope it is at least somewhat sensical. (*Apparently, commonsensical is a word but sensical is not. I just went on a little internet search to dictionary.com when spellcheck rejected sensical. I am choosing to ignore this fact. I like the word, damn it!)
How cute is this?

I never got around to reporting about my trip to AZ. I have a fun story. My uncle used to work for the airlines so my dad and I flew standby. That means we get really cheap tickets and if theres room on the plane after all the regular paying customers have gotten on, then we get to fly. From Philly to Dallas, we got to fly first class. That was really cool; Id never done that before. When we got to Dallas, things did not go so smoothly. The flight we thought we were going to fly out on was oversold. We had no chance of getting onto that one. We didnt get out on the next two flights either. By this time my dad was getting really upset because my grandfathers 90th birthday party was getting dangerously close. It turns out that the flights were all fully booked because of spring break, and we were not going to get out of Dallas that day flying standby. (We found out later that if we had sat around just waiting we would have been there until the following night.) Through all of this, my dad was in touch with my aunt who was already in AZ. She finally told him that my grandfather wanted us to go ahead and buy tickets no matter how much they were. I always knew you had to buy plane tickets in advance. I now truly understand why that is so important. We had to pay $1400 to get the two of us onto the next flight! These were just regular, one-way, coach seats. This didnt seem to bother my grandfather; he was just happy we made it.
The party was nice. Lots of people got up and said very nice things about my grandpa. Lots of people cried. I even teared up at one point. The rest of the trip was incredibly boring. My cousin, who I thought was going to keep me sane, went home the next morning. I was left with my dad, aunt and uncle, grandfather, and his girlfriend. My dad is the youngest of the bunch at 56. They all wear hearing aides. We sat around a lot. To top off the fun, we dont like my grandpas girlfriend. We credit her with keeping him alive after my grandmother died so she is tolerated, but she has always been a raging bitch. Now, she is also going deaf and blind; she basically has no idea what is going on around her but continues to want to control everything. Let me tell you, I was quite happy to get home. Im glad I got to see my grandfather, but I wish he lived here so I could go for a few hours and then come home. So thats my trip. Sorry for the exceptionally long entry.

Why is it sometimes, no matter how hard you try, two people just cant seem to agree or understand each other? You know, I just want to fucking kill people every so often.
