I have to/get to ride the Tokyo trains all the time, complete with the full-body mash, but CC does not. So to make sure that he knows the joys of rush hour, we went into Shinjuku a couple of weeks ago. He took a kazoo and played the Rocky theme for the commuters.
And it's totally quiet on there.
This guy is demonstrating excellent boarding technique. I suck at it. I'm always getting my bag caught or my shoes whacked. But these guys, they brace themselves and suck it all in and ta da! Amazing, and yet annoying, because the rest of us could really use that extra three cubic feet of air space.
Next time maybe I'll get some pictures of the pushers.

Anyway, I'm not quite a troglodyte as I do have a garden to wander into when I'm tired of rummaging through boxes I never got around to when I moved, or elbow's sore from resting on a desk that's far too short for me while online, but yeah, maybe some sort of third space "human contact without actually talking" would be nice, at least between nights out. But, alas, there are no starbii within quite a few km. And Misdo makes my head hurt (OH-oh-OH!! Do-do-do-do-do-do-donatsu!) after an hour or two, and I don't smoke nearly enough to keep up with the ojisan's at Doutor, so what's a guy to do?
btw any place for good barbque in Tokyo? There's a wicked shop called Savannah in America-mura if you ever come over to Kansai. I hear there's a Greek restaurant over there. THAT makes me jealous...
