First of all, to everyone who sent positive energy to me for my interview...

Thank you all very much!

It went really well. They said I am the top candidate. But I'm still waiting on an actual job offer. Since the company is merging with another, maybe it's not a surpise that things take forever right now. And at least I still have my current job, whatever happens.

Other nice things in my life recently include:

Hanging out with my little brother, who was visiting DC for a business meeting. We got to enjoy an evening of beer, steaks, jazz and good conversation. Since my bro and I both used to play saxophone in school, it was a real treat to hear a local saxophonist who made us envious of his talents. He sang and played keyboard too. It was fun going to work with a slight hangover - that hasn't happened in a long time.

And last night my old roommate from university was also in town. This time it was beer, vietnamese food, an nice scotch, then dessert with a glass of port wine. Contentment ensued.

After working all weekend on a presentation for work, that was my reward. It's a good thing I still know how to treat myself. No nice women are offering to pamper me yet...
