Yep, you're right. YouTube is addictive, although not nearly as much fun as this site. A friend sent me this link, apologies if you've seen it before.

I just love Penn & Teller. And it's kinda sad how clueless people can be about science. Chemicals (or things that sound like chemicals) are automatically "bad" and must be banned. But who has time to ask questions or think for themselves these days? As an antidote, I hope more people will take the time to see Al Gore's film on global warming (An Inconvenient Truth) now that it's been Oscar-nominated. Better-informed people may just make better decisions. Hell, it's worth a try.

Keeping on the video/film topic, I really enjoyed Children of Men. It ranks up there with the other great movies I've seen lately (Pan's Labyrinth and Volver). And since I'm still in a dry spell relationship-wise, I get to watch dvds from my collection and write about it here. And you have to suffer through it all. Last night I watched Diva - a 25 year-old French film about opera and bootleg recordings and murders resulting from mixed up cassette tapes. Yes, it's dated. But still such fun.

I'm looking forward to next weekend - less film - more tattoos. There's a Tattoo Arts Convention in Philly. I'm gonna check it out. Hopefully I won't get drunk and try getting a DNA molecule tattoo or something.
