Just a quickie today - my excuse being that it's just too damned hot. Actually, I was underwhelmed. Supposedly the temps in Philly were gonna be 100 yesterday (and today). But we didn't even come close. 97 F is no big deal. I feel cheated by the local weather forecast!
My latest foray into the world of culture and entertainment came by attending a performance of
Cirque du Soleil on Saturday. If you're not already familiar with them, they are a modernist circus, without animals. They specialize in acrobatics, clowns, live music and gorgeous lighting effects. Tickets are fairly expensive, but this is something everyone should see in person at least once. Of course, there are DVD and tv specials too, but they can't capture the live performance atmosphere.
The show playing here in Philly is Quidam. Check it out if it comes to a city near you! Suitable for all ages. But if you sit near the front, beware. Some audience members get to participate on-stage.
Ok, I'm off to visit my brother in Wisconsin later this week. Hope everyone stays cool, or if you're just too hot to stay cool, post plenty of pics please.
