I had a very good weekend. On Friday I went to the Philly Flower Show, which is apparently a really big event each year, but this is the first time I ever went to the Convention Center to check it out. Pics follow. For my money, the highlight of the evening was meeting the very lovely and completely sweet Karma. The Flower Show was also really amazing. So colorful and aromatic.
Also saw some films. Tristam Shandy was hilarious, and far shorter than reading the novel itself. Although now I'm gonna do that too.
Also went out with friends for dinner at the Persian Grill and followed it with a viewing of The Libertine, starring Johnny Depp. Considering that both women are HUGE Depp fans, and we still all agreed that the movie was atrocious, that's gotta be saying something. Quills was far better (ages ago).
Next up - a long weekend south of the border, visiting a certain special lady who I see all too rarely. I'm really not sure it's in either of our best interests to try carrying on a long-distance relationship. They almost never end well. But at least there will be heavy drinking involved. And vacations are always a good idea, compared to the usual working grind. We'll see how it all turns out. Perhaps I'll meet my match right here online too, so don't give up yet, girls!
