I clocked out at 9 hours today. I feel happy--I didn't take a lunch, and I worked a half-hour over what I was supposed to. I really wanted to finish this one project though, and I did, fortunately. I put it on the shipping cart just as they were turning off the lights. And it only took 40 minutes to drive home--that was super nice.
I'm realizing that this isn't going to end suddenly with a test, or some sort of miraculous change after three months (maybe a raise?) I'm going to be going to this job five days a week for a while.
It's nice to have consistencey, but I'm wondering when the fun will wear off--hopefully I'll have another job by then.
On a better note--I just called about an apartment. Maybe I can afford to move out. We'll see! It's a little tight with the money, but I'm sure that it'll work out. I budgeted my income and the rent and bills and food, etc. It's alright, I just have to monitor my spending. I was talking with my mom, and it seems like I can get started with stuff from home--my bed can come with me, and a whole bunch of stuff.
Also, it'll knock off 18 miles from my commute each way! Figure, that's 25 days * 36 miles / 32 miles per gallon = 28 gallons per month saved = $65 or so in my pocket. Hmm. Yeah, it sucks living in Hillsboro and commuting to Airport Way. It's better than my Dad's old commute from Hillsboro to Salem each day.
I'm also ordering my laptop within the week. It goes na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
It's a great thing / horrible thing when you talk to someone enough to worry about going over your cell-phone minutes.
