It's always strange talking about something someone else has already discussed fairly well. But here goes anyway.
Venice and I hung out yesterday, and it was totally awesome. Just like every adventure that we have, we spend countless hours driving around trying to find something that, with 30 seconds of planning would've taken ohhh, about 5 minutes. But that said, how much talking can one do in 5 minutes compared to two hours. I guess the only unfortunate thing is the lack of air-conditioning--that would've really helped. When we finally got smoothies, I had a line of sweat from my seatbelt on my shirt. Fortunately, though, I had a shirt on, unlike a guy that we encountered at Jamba Juice, he was totally shirtless, and started talking to us.
One of the quotes of the evening:
Venice: "I seem to attract thirty-year-old men. I'm like a 30-year-old man-magnet."
She's right though. It was totally comfortable. I didn't have to worry about stuff being awkward, or whether or not I'm talking too much or too little. It's just understood.
We had sushi, which resulted in eating waaay too much. I also drank like fifteen pints of water. Regardless of me going to the bathroom when I was at the restaurant, I still had to go on the drive back--that's one thing why living in Hillsboro sucks--if you have to pee on the way back from civilization, you better be prepared to hold it, or make an emergency pit-stop at the Taco Bell on Murray (didn't do that today).
One of the things that is actually really good about driving aimlessly around the city is all the things one sees. It puts things into perspective. Hot girls in SE, non-functioning stripmalls on 82nd (I mean, why isn't there a Jamba Juice anywhere?). It's just a good town, and it's good to go out and see random bits of it every now and then.
Cool.
