Okay. Okay. So Coi tagged me . . . and since she is one of my very favorite people I guess I'll list 20 random facts about myself. I am SO not promising that it will be very interesting though.
20. When I was 11 years old I broke my hip playing football at recess with a bunch of boys. I hid the injury for a week because I was afraid my parents would not let me go on vacation if they knew.
19. I have 3 sisters - one of whom inherited schizophrenia from her biological father. I love her very much but sometimes we go years without speaking when she is off her meds.
18. I was one of those EXTREMELY uptight teenagers who was always worried about pleasing my parents. In the 19 years I lived in their house I NEVER drank or smoked - and I NEVER had sex. This of course all went to shit as soon as I moved out.
17. From kindergarten to 12th grade I was practically a straight A student. (Two B's in 12 years) But in college I rarely even went to class and I think I finished with like a 2.5 GPA. (and it's never bothered me once.)
16. When I was 5 years old I was molested by a female friend of the family. She was 13. I feel sorry for her to this day and am not exactly sure how the experience shaped me.
15. I am a very simple person. The only things I think I would ever need to make me happy (other than the essential three) are my husband, my kids, and good literature.
14. I knew my husband less than 48 hours before I knew I wanted to spend every day of my life with him. I knew him less than 30 seconds before I knew I wanted to fuck his brains out!
13. By the time I was 12 years old I had a 34D chest and I was NOT strapping them down. I actually wore stuff to accentuate them and used them to make silly boys do silly things.
12. I love large dogs . . . BUT I have always wanted a West Highland White Terrier. It's sort of a mild obsession and I WILL have one some day.
11. I have suffered from panick attacks since I was about 19 years old (maybe earlier). I went about 5 years without having one but they began again a few months ago. I have only had one in the last month though and hopefully they're on their way out again.
10. The only thing that I fear in life is losing one of the three people that mean everything to me. I am scared of nothing else anymore . . . NOTHING.
9. I have been a writer all my life. I started a novel in my mind about 10 years ago but have yet to actually write a word of it. I have given myself a 5 year deadline.
8. I think my Dad is gay. He has been married to my Mom for over 30 years and is a devout Catholic. He is stubborn and proud and for these reasons I know he will never come out of the closet. But I am SURE he is gay. There is no doubt in my mind.
7. I have one of those mothers you see portrayed in movies and television all the time. (Monica's mom on friends?) She has never given me a compliment without something horrible attached at the end. The whole time I lived in her house I never weighed over 115 lbs. and she had me convinced that I shoud be trying desperately to contact Richard Simmons.
Sometimes I hate her.
6. I was one of those frightening 14 year old New Kids On The Block groupies. (Yah, don't judge.) My best friend's Dad once took us on a chase of their limmo around Oklahoma City. We almost died and then almost got arrested. It was the best.
5. I have not seen my real hair color in over 10 years. It is dark brown highlighted with LOTS of grey. So I color it about very two months.
4. I was a preschool teacher for 4 years. I loved this job more than any other I've ever had. The pay was shit.
3. I don't like fish - the cooked kind. But I LOVE sushi. Go figure.
2. I believe in God and Ghosts.
1. My husband is the only person who has probably ever known the real me. He is the most intelligent, interesting, kind, funny, insane and angry person I know. And I only feel comfortable enough to be myself when I'm with him.
