Alright, I won an auction for a 1979 Rickenbacker 4005 bass guitar on ebay. It was clearly stated in the payment details that the seller would hold on to the bass for 10 days if payment was in the form of a cashier's check. (For a transaction in the amounts of this one besides for Paypal, a cashier's check is the only secure way to go.) I sent him my check by next day air, it got there approximately 2 days after I'd won the auction. I'd call that pretty fast. He's telling me now that it's going to be a couple of weeks before he can do anything because the bank's put a hold on the funds. If I'm lucky, I'll see the bass sometime early next month. I've sent a couple of fairly angry emails to the guy, now he's talking about cancelling the whole deal. The only thing is, he's got a whole lot of my money (which a stop payment cannot be issued on, that's the whole point of a cashier's check) and I've got nothing! Not a damn thing. Who's the prick here, me or him?
