i went to a catholic mass the other day (for a funeral) for the first time in about . . ummm. . 15 or 20 years!
i was raised a catholic and even went to catholic school .
i had forgetten some of nuansces of the whole thing. .such as . . the 'peace be with you' neighbor hand-shake. .
i was listening really carefully to what the priest was saying , and a couple of times i would think to myself. .
"that makes no sense at all'
but as , soon as i would think that, the priest would mention ..
"this is our faith"
so, i'm all, alright . . i guess that base is covered
then i started staring at the statues all around the church . .
as i was thinking to myself . . 'welp, if there was ever gonna be a time to shed some 'light' on the situation, now's the time'
but. . nothing. .

i went for a funeral about three months ago, and was compleatly freaked when they asked me to read the petetions. i was also raised catholic and went to a catholic school so when i got up there, i just wanted to die, bad memories of nuns for teachers. dead grandma in the front row, it was not how i wanted to remember my last moments with my mammy. i don't think ill ever set foot in a church again.
