So Mike had an interview in Detroit on Tuesday. It's to be the Midwest sells rep for Stone Brewing co. If they liked him then he will be one of two people flying to San Diego for the last interview. They will be calling April 1st to let him know. It's a little exciting and a little nerve wracking. I have mixed feelings about him getting the job. For one, it IS a good job. It's interesting and it probably pays better and would look good on his resume. On the other hand, he would be doing a lot of traveling and he would often be gone for weeks at a time. I also have mixed feelings about that because I do enjoy having time to myself which I never get but I would worry about him a lot when he would be gone. I dunnooo. Still, I hope he gets the job because he wants it.
Since he had the interview In Detroit we both took off a few days of work so we could make a little beer trip out of it. We went to a few brewpubs. Kuhnhenn Brewing Company was the one I was looking most forward to. They had a banana stout that I was really looking forward to trying but it was pretty disappointing. I bought a growler of their Simcoe Silly, which was the best beer of the night. It's a Belgian Strong Pale Ale and pretty strong (10.5 ABV although according to beeradvovate.com its only 8.5??). I collect growlers. I have so many now that don't have anywhere to put them. I really need to put up some shelves or something.
Yesterday we went on a mad dash around the city yesterday looking for Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout since it just got released. Ended up buying a case (120 bucks for 12 beers! It's the second most expensive case of beer I've ever bought. The case of Dark Lord I got last year was 180!) at this little hole in the wall after hours of searching countless stores and getting lost at least 5 times. That part sucked a little bit. Oh and it was COLD there. A different kind of frigid cold than Dayton gets. It was nice to get home to 60 degree weather.
We got really high on the ride home which was fun because it's maybe the 3rd time we'd ever smoked pot together. I've been smoking a lot more lately as I've become somewhat bored with drinking and I rediscovered how much I like being high. I do get a little dumb on it though. Like, we stopped at this rest stop so I could pee and I walked all the way around the building looking for the rest rooms, couldn't find themstarted walking around it again and finally noticed the giant (and I mean GIANT YELLOW) sign that said 'Restrooms out of Service' (and it was all boarded up like they were rebuilding them) and then the long line of port-o-potties (ewww) not far away from it. Derrr. We stopped and got all this candy and shite. It was fun to laugh together for a good 3 hoursThese little trips we do really help "rekindle" our relationship a lot. Ok though enough of the ghayness, right? When we got home yesterday it was awesome outside. Warm and Sunny. We had a few beers on the deck and then went and had Mexican. It was one of the best days I've had in a while.
Its thunder storming something terrible outside right now. I do enjoy spring thunderstorms, although it would be a lot more enjoyable if I wasn't sitting at my desk at work looking at it thro a closed window. When I was little I used to sit in the garage with both garage doors open and just watch the storm. It was very soothing.
Last Sunday I started building a website for Mike to use as a temporary online resume for his interview. Once the job interviewing stuff is done we are going to use the site to catalog our beers and blog about our beer trips. I decided start building the site when I was stoned and then I got the fantastic idea in my head that I absolutely had to have a new camera so I can start taking pictures of the events and such we go to and I HAD to have a new one immediately. I was looking at all these really nice-professional-complicated-digital SLR ones with the different lenses and shite because I wouldn't mind getting a little into photography. Mike went with me so he talked me into getting a far less complicated one as he said I always want things that are one step better than what I need. So yeah, I got a Sony Cyber-shot 7.2-Megapixel Digital Camera. 12x optical/2x digital/24x total zoom; 57x Smart Zoom; Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. I wanted a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi 10.1-Megapixel Digital SLR CameraI'm still a little disappointed I didn't get it, but Mike was absolutely right, I don't need one that nice. The one I got takes pretty groovy pictures. I tested it out on my cats and I got all these really neat up-close ones of Hammies face. I might even start posting some pics on here once I have ones other than just my cats. Ha. I just need to remember to take pictures when we go places. I took the camera with me when we went to Detroit but I always feel like a jackass taking pictures at places. I need to get over my jackassness.
Humm.that's about it. I need to do the payroll now.
