I went out to Yellow Springs last night with Mike to help him hook up his bosss home theater. What an interesting trip. We were on 75 and there was a fucking wreck that was probably 150 feet in front of us. We were sitting at a standstill for a good 30 minutes and Mike was just bitching up a storm the entire time. Then he decided to put the car in reverse and go down the shoulder of the highway (in reverse!) until we got to the 70 exit. It was a little scary.
His bosss 5 year old daughter would not leave me alone once we got there. Kids love me for some reason. She asked me read her these books, which made me incredibly uncomfortable. (Reading a childrens book and doing the weird voices in front of complete strangersumm, yeah) But I put on a good show, read her the books, and acted happy and sweet and blah blah because I didnt want to come off as mean or rude. I read somewhere that Introverts often feel as if they are acting when around strangers. I find that to be quite true. After reading her a few books she decided to bring me several Barbies, stuffed animals, a talking cookie monster, and a hopping duck and insisted that I played with them. I mean, I like kids and all, but..well Let me just say I was overly relieved when we left.
We went to Peachs Grille after we left, which is the only reason I said I would go help him in the first place. God, I love that place. I got this delicious Hummus Wrap that had hummus, avocado, carrots, onions, and tomatoes in it. I had a Rogue Hazelnut Brown Ale (or as they call it, Nectar) for the first time. I highly recommend this beer to anyone who is a fan of brown ales. I also had a Great Lakes (seasonal) Christmas Ale on draft, which I hadnt had in years (since I worked at the drive thru back in 2000 actually). I love me some microbrew beer. The last one I had was a pumpkin spice ale, which I cant recall the name of. It was alright. The drive home was wretched. It was raining so fucking hard that it was nearly impossible to see thru the windshield. The rain woke me up several times last night also.and its STILL raining. Lovely.
Meh, I cant wait to get off work. I think i'll drink some wine and clean my apartment tonight.
