So this past weekend was my birthday weekend. I had off Saturday thru Tuesday. This is probably the most I have had off since before back to school season in August. There were only four things I really wanted to do. 1. see Cloverfield, 2. see Straylight Run, 3. go snowboarding, and 4. get a new tattoo. To bad I was only able to go three for four this weekend.
1. Cloverfield wasn't as great as I had hoped, I think because I am such a huge Lost fan I had expected so much more. The internet buzz also didn't help. Everyone was writing about all this hidden stuff to watch out for, I didn't read any of it till after I saw it, and I don't know, just didn't feel it. Hopefully J.J. Abrams won't let us down with the start of season 4 of Lost tonight.
2. Straylight Run, what can I say? I have seen them so many times, this set was short due to the fact that they weren't headlining and the past few times I had seen them, they had. I think the best time I ever saw them was at the Knitting Factory with Dan Andriano acoustic from Alkaline Trio.
3. Snowboarding was a lot of fun, it was my first time in over 6 years, and lets just say my body was in a little better shape when I was 17-18! It was really empty cause it was a Tuesday which was nice, it was also nice that lift tickets were only $10!
4. The tattoo didn't fit in! My problem is I have two ideas, and two locations, and I just can't make my mind up on what to put where. I won't commit till I am sure on what I want were. It's to bad cause I really like both pieces.
Sunday was my actual birthday, my best friend asked me to help her move her into her new apartment. Like I best friend I did it and didn't mind. Anyways to make up for missing #4 I got tons of great messages from all of my friends.
I also got two really great emails, one was about a piece of original art work by Derek Hess that I had bid on and lost. It seems the winner never paid and it was offered to me at less. That made my day. This piece fits me so well. It's his design of a piece called Hemorrhage only it's burned and painted onto a skateboard deck. The main part of the image is also framed. This piece is so fitting cause of my skateboarding past and running my own skate shop! So I am very excited for this to show up! And I will post a photo when it does.
The second email was a man in Australia that had read I was looking for a Yellow copy of Reggie And The Full Effects - Greatest Hits 84-87 record. This will complete my quest for the full set of both this album and Promotional copy. 11 Records in total in an amazing array of colors. I also can't wait to get this!
Anyways though it wasn't like last year when I spent it at Disney, I feel this birthday was just as good.
..I think I need more friends on here. How the hell do I do that?
