The Final Drop
This Saturday is my band's last show. They say that they're going to continue w/o me, and try to find a new drummer, but the sound that we've cultivated over the past 10 months is something that no other drummer will be able to duplicate.
We improvise a lot, and (not to toot my own horn) I'm the navigator through the expanses of sound that we travel through. We get from point A to point B in theses jams on my watch, and because of my dynamic changes.
I've had a lot of fun playing with these guys, even though the musical direction isn't one that I fully support, it is very infulenced by my style of play. I'd love nothing more than for them to find a drummer to prove me wrong, but I don't think it's gonna happen.
If you're in NYC this weekend, and find yourself with nothing to do, check out the Dirty Drop. We're playing @ Kenny's Castaways, which, if you're familiar with live music, is a fucking sweeeet venue.
(My boy Greggy DelDarkness did this poster...it's my favourite of his work thus far.)
In other news, I'm fucking DYING to get out to PDX. This whole waiting around bullshit sucks.
My boss is trying to get me to stay and take on a middle management role, but if I stick around any longer, I'll start to grow roots. She did give me Full-Time until I leave, which is sweet, because I need the frakkin' money, for sure.
Keep it real in the concrete and steel, y'all.

I just need to get my undergrad time done so I can go on and get my PhD and become the Awesomeness with a capital A instead of a little one.
I can sympathize with your need for money and work crap. Guh.
