I found out today that, it's true, i will not be able to make the SG east coast camping. I'm going to be busy taking care of my 87 year old great grandmother again.
It's cool though. I'll have more time to practice not being Mr. Wallflower. Further, i don't know how much longer I'll have my great grandmother, so I gotta spend time with her whenever I can. Even if she's old and mean and controlling and a few other unpleasant things. Someone through a monkey wrench into that side of my family and it's just a bunch of mean crazy people.
But, what can I do? I identify with my great grandmother. I'm going to miss her when she's gone, so I'm going to get in as much time with her as I can.
Today's question of mystery is:
How/what are you doing July Fourth? For you Canuck's, you have flag day today or tomorrow, right? How're you celebrating that? (please forgive my ignorance on holidays of my brother's to the north. It took me 22 years to figure out the day of Christmas).
I'm still trying to figure out how i'll spend the day. I know i'm going to be on call to retrieve my mother from Casino Niagara, but that's only an hour's drive away.
~UPDATE~
Well, i went out for a little date with a very small woman (certainly the shortest girl I've dated in a long time. If she's 5 feet, i'm a monkey's uncle). But she's a sweety. Just an afternoon thing. Movie and hanging out. Friend stuff, ya know?
I get home (at 4 pm. obviously not a serious date, you perv's), and what mail do I have? A bill for seven grand. Payment due in 29 days. If i want to sign up for the installment plan, i have until the 7th. With the long July 4th weekend, that works out to like 3 business days. Joy!
The bill is from my school, Syracuse University. I'll be glad when I am done with this crap. All the financial aid paperwork (real paper and online paper) consumes as much time as any of my classes. Worse, the paperwork has to be done in the off time. It's like doing your taxes twice a year, in addition to your income taxes. bahhh.
Anyways, my bill was so large (and surprising) because I had somehow missed a hoop i had to jump through, and there's at least $5,000 of financial aid missing. So, i promptly jumped through that hoop (signing away everything except for my first born female child) and i'll find out tomorrow how much my bill actually is.
Oh please, give me the stamina for just one more year of all this beaurocracy (sp?).
By the way, Cable internet is not "always on." It ALWAYS has hiccups.
