I met Bruce Campbell yesterday love It was cool! Like I know I won't be able to hide my level of geekiness in describing the experience, so why bother?

He was at a booksigning at Borders in Westwood. My friend and I went, and it was all kinds of exciting. We were sitting in the front row and he came out and said we could talk about whatever we all wanted. Turns out most people had not read his new book yet. Me and my friend included, as we had just bought that day. So he started talking about jobs. He asked if anyone thought they had an interesting job. So, I raised my hand. I ended up having a conversation with Mr. Campbell about managing a body piercing studio for a few minutes. The usual questions followed, "do the metal dectectors go off? "I guess cute piercings on cute girls don't get wanded." That's right, he said I was cute. He was funny, I was witty. It was neat biggrin He talked to other people about other random things, people asked questions and what not. But he referenced back to my job throughout the Q and A. blush

We were allowed to have one item sigend by him for every book we purchased. So if we bought 5 copies we could either have the 5 books, or 5 other memoribilia signed. My friend went with her Evil Dead lunchbox. I however had him write KLAATU VIRATA NIKTO... on my forearm. I'm not going to explain it, if you don't know what it means. Whyon my arm, when it'll just wash away? Because I intend to have it tattooed over. I never said I wasn't a dork. He also signed my book, which was extra cool, because I wasn't expecting my arm and the book. It was so much fun that I wish I wouldn't have missed the Burbank booksigning the day before.

Though I do have to say, I didn't really look like I belonged with the crowd. Mostly guys. Mostly in black. Mostly looking like they've been to comic conventions and the like quite a few times before. And then me, with a flowy skirt, and bright, happy colors.

And then to make the day even greater, we stopped off at the Formosa after we ate, and the bartender we've made nice with was there. He was just ending his shift. He asked what was on my arm. I explained. Well, he'd never heard of the Evil Dead series, or Bruce Campbell. So we had to enlighten him. We took Evil Dead II back to his place and reveled in the gore, cheesy dialog, and "special" effects.

It really was an almost perfect day...
