So I didn't go to either night of the Burlesque show this go-round, which is a shame because I hear it was even hotter than the one I did attend last time.
However, I had an even better Friday evening spending time with dclxvi on 3rd Street Promenade. We had dinner at an amazing little Italan restaurant and were seated upstairs away from the crowd. Not only was the food fantastic, but so was the view! We were right next to a window, and just below us outside was the most beautiful belly dancer performing. It was all very, dare I say, romantic. And here I was thinking that romance was dead.
Saturday I ended up having to work for a couple hours (ugh), but got it made up to me later that night at a friends' barbeque. Cedar, Troublemaker, Niamh, MoonrockMambo/ShitOutaLuck/Margot_Dent/to be continued?... were there, along with a few other SG and non-SG people alike. Yes, some of us are known to mingle with the outside world on rare occasion.
Sunday I spent the day sleeping, smoking, and soaking up rays in Huntington Beach. There's a strip where you can have dogs unleashed. Lots of fun for my german shepard, but I can't bring my great dane - he's too gigantic and aggresive. Even a minor incident would mean that the city would put him down. So no public beach for him, but he still gets to go to private stretches in Mailbu from time to time. Later I hung out with Rae and Midian at my place for a bit. They are one cool couple and it's always a pleasure to spend time with them.
Then I logged onto SG and started writing this obnoxiously long journal, and that brings us back to the present...
