Anyone else out there ever watch Reno 911?
Well, they often film it across the street from where I work, at the Carson Sheriff's Dept. It's great to drive by and see all the characters. Makes me want to yell "RENO 911 ROCKS!!!" out the window as I drive by, but I don't want to be THAT guy...and ruin a perfectly good shot by being a complete dork.
Yesterday, I did get to see something a little odd even for them. The actor who plays Dangle was evidently on break and getting some food from one of the trailers...AND HE WAS WEARING LONG PANTS. Damn, that was a mind-fuck.
Also, completely unrelated except by proximity, I saw another interesting occurance. A para- (possibly quadra-) plegic was in an electric wheelchair attempting to jay-wheel across the street. He had gotten to the middle and had to chill for a second while oncoming traffic went by. "What the fuck is he thinking?" I wondered. But then it got worse...
After the traffic cleared, he continued to cross... but then instead of getting on the sidewalk, he proceeded to hang a sharp turn and continue down the street as if he were a car!
Not to sound intolerably cruel, but one would think that he of all people would be most sensitive to danger, having obviously already experienced some kind of debilitating injury in his time.
So WTF? Was this guy mental? Did he want to commit suicide? Or did he just escape from his care-giver and start running wild? Or rolling wild, as the case may be...
Who knows. I lost site of him after that, so we can only hope there was a happy ending to his story. He WAS headed straight for the Sheriff's department. Hopefully officer Dangle had time to jump into his action shorts and save the day.
