My birthday weekend was alright. I saw Against Me! the day after my birthday. Thanksgiving was pretty uneventful. It was nice spending time with my family.
For my Sociology of Religion class we had to visit a religious service of a religion we are not familiar with a write a paper on it. So last weekend I went to a Catholic church for my project. The service was much more formal than my old Protestant church. I had trouble knowing when to sit, stand and kneel. I also had trouble with what lines to recite along with the congregation and which hymns book to read out of haha.
For extra credit I am attending a Gainesville Buddhist Association service tomorrow. I'm not into meditating at all and I don't think it'll be useful for me in the least, but my grandparents (who were Vietnamese) were Budddhists so this will be my chance for me to get in touch with my "roots" haha. Plus I need the extra credit.
Ali G is my new favorite comedian. I just watched the Season 1 DVD and it was hilarious. It is on the same level as Chappelle for sure. Borat is definetly my favorite and Ali G and Bruno are tied for 2nd. I saw The Devil's Rejects last night and It was a lot better than House of 1000 Corpses. The only types of movies I've seen lately it seems are artsy foreign films or violent horror films haha.
My friend (who used to major in Music/Percussions until he switched over to Psychology last year) used to own a drum set back in high school but had to sell it for tuition money. But since he has money now he bought a set last week. I jammed out with him twice and he's incredible. My other guitar playing friend (I play bass) is playing with us too so all we need now is a singer.
I'm going out to go see "Rent" (so much for my artsy/horror movie trend haha) with the Pagan girl tonight so hopefully things go well.
