Thank you all for all your birthday wishes 
Yes, yes...I'm old now...and I don't give a shit! Woot!
Typically, I hate my birthday. Having it quietly nestled in between xmas and New Years guarantees that even if people know when my birthday is, they'll forget it. As a kid it meant never having a proper birthday party since everyone would be off on vacation with their families. And we'll not even get into what birthdays are like for adopted kids... Over the years I've simply come to accept that my birthday sucks ass...and instead make sure to have a toast on NYE to 'yesterday having been my birthday,' which at least allows me half a moment of fame.
This year I happily spent my big day drinking beer and making a new friend while low_ball finished a tattoo on my new friend's wife. We covered everything in conversation from gun control, immigration, gay marraige, and the fact that I clearly need to work on my confidence when it comes to my pinstriping. And yes, friends, I FINALLY succeeded in holding a real gun...something in my 32 years I've never done.
When the work was done we all headed out for some encredible Italian food and good wine.

As for tonight, New Year's Eve...this is probably the first year I've not stressed at all about what the plans were. Despite invitations to go out and socialize, we've decided to stay off the roads and have a mellow little private party of our own.
I've made my fabulous homemade refried beans...which low_ball will soon be turning into HIS fabulous bean dip... He'll also be making crab cakes, which I've promised to eat...despite my many years of vegetarianism. For some reason, I've had a hankering for crab cakes (and tuna salad). I tried to eat a scallop the other night...to no avail. It ended up in my napkin.
We've got beer, two bottles of my favorite wine, good food, and a tattoo machine.
I'm sure we'll have to pics to post later
I've also been working on some new years resolutions (even though i'm not a big fan of such things...this year seems to call for them). I'll post them soon...stay tuned...
