Not ALL spider-webby memories are bad...
The other day Moldy had gone out to a meeting and left me working on the DeSoto on my own...
There I was, perched precariously across the rear windshield, trying not to dent anything while I was working out the dents in the roof (gotta love steel bodied cars that you can actually do that on)...when AC/DC's "thunderstruck" came on the stereo...
Razor's Edge is an album I listened to quite a bit in my last few months of school.
I suppose it pumped me full of the adrenaline I needed in the homestretch...
I remember that it was in my cd player as I drove out to the church on graduation day...wearing that INCREDIBLY innappropriate red dress...
I was suffering through the worst heartbreak I've ever known...having just found out that my best friend and lover, for lack of a better term, had just been recalled by the army...
And yet, for the two of us to walk across that stage was one of the happiest days of my life...
I remembered all the early mornings I'd have that album at full volume rolling into the parking lot, still drunk from work the night before...stumbling into the classroom...one day closer to graduation...
I remember who I was at the end of the year...as opposed to who I was when I first showed up...
I remember who I was sitting behind my desk and holding on through all those long months between registering for school and actually moving out...
I remember who I was before I made that call and registered...remembered the day that seed was planted by an innocent bystander...
Then I realize...I'd met those fools at the Rumbler's Car Club NYC show under the brooklyn bridge...
Y'know what? Those fools are gathered right now under that same bridge...
I'd wanted to be able to fly myself home for the show...but alas...not ALL dreams can come true, right?
Still...I might be hiding out in the desert of southern california...working on this god forsaken DeSoto ( i SWEAR, it WILL get done!)...
But today my heart is in New York City...love you boys!!!!

Ahh, I love Thunderstruck. Especially a good 'ahhh-ahhhh-yaaaaah-ahhh!!' sing-a-long with mates.

We'll be looking for awhile. We have a lot of shifts to get covered and we're in desperate need of a bartender. Kick your captors in the shins then come to work!
