pretty much i've been moving lately and i haven't had much time to work on the chassis.
i finished welding the front suspension, except for the steering rack, so i'll have to finish that later. the rest of the suspension will bolt up no problem.
time to work on the rear suspension....

Nice welding, BTW.
Thanks!
It's a 30-over 383, but I didn't build it myself so I don't know what the cam is. It's a tick hotter than normal, by the sound, though when I got it she had a factory cast iron intake and exhaust, so the mucho freer flow may have something to do with it. Holley 750 vacuum secondary, Edelbrock intake, and the whole cheap-O Summit Racing 3" exhaust system, headers included.
So it sounds pretty wicked. Gotta find a muffler shop to weld up the whole exhaust (it's clamped right now) and drop in the cutouts so I can go to Infineon and drag her.
Woo!
Thanks!

Nothing major done on the frame. I've been mostly disassembling the smelly, old, grease-pit they call a Mercedes!

Thanks, friend!
The ranger story from last week:
I drove to where my chassis is being built to get the plates off the Mercedes so I could just transfer the registration to the new Scion. After I got back home, I realized I needed the registration for the Mercedes as well.
So I hopped back on the highway to head back to the benz, and I heard...

Sweetness. I run Chrysler power steering, so I know, technically, that the road is down there somewhere. I think.
I put in a new steering box before dropping in the new motor, so it's much less sloppy than it was, but I think when I go to the 440, I'll upgrade to full-manual.

i got the stock steering box in my monte. but I did just get a new hydraboost set up...that runs off of the power sterring pump...to power the brakes...so that should be interesting.
what happened to the motor in your truck??!!
