DAILY HOLDEN-O-METER: Well, there is no word from Holden's supervisor yet. Perhaps he'll never find out. Perhaps he'll find out later (more likely).
Holden found out some more bad news today. The plasma center has moved to Mt. Pleasant, MI. Damn those CMU Chips! That's another $160/mo. of lost income.
Holden's mother has recommended that he pursue local school districts to officiate, but Holden needs to practice a little bit more before he starts doing that--perhaps in a few months. She also recommended that Holden pursue substitute teaching, which wouldn't be a bad idea, considering that Holden excels in most subjects, is a Spanish major and math minor, and has excellent computer skills. Holden has enough college credits. . . 109. . .to substitute teach. Unfortunately, Holden has a very good reason not to substitute teach, which he can't tell you, unless you e-mail him confidentially.
Holden acquired the necessary form to register for classes. He just needs to fill it out and fax it back to EMU. Sounds easy enough. He'll do that tomorrow.
Holden needs to visit his post office box tomorrow. He is expecting forwarded mail, a package from home and some forms to complete from his employer.
Holden also needs to buy his books, because money was deposited into his account on Monday.
He also should finish cleaning his room and review his volleyball rules. Holden officiates three volleyball matches on Wednesday night.
Holden must fix his e-mail. He can receive e-mail, but not send it from Outlook. POP3 mail can only be sent via webmail now, which sucks because there is no record of his written e-mails.
Time to call Yahoo! DSL tech support (again). Why, oh why, can't we just have cable Internet?
Must call dentists for tooth patching quotes. Ugh. Will the work ever end?
Do hot chicks realize how hard Holden tries to look good for them? Probably not.
Well, if you have read this far, and you're on Holden's friends list (or you remembered to wish Holden a Happy Birthday recently), please step up to the plate and be one of the first three to request your free--absolutely no obligation--Gmail (Google) e-mail account. Holden has three invites to spare.
Should you be one of the first three to request this in Holden's journal. . .that should be obvious enough. . .be sure to drop him an e-mail through SG. . .because he'll be needing it to set you up.

Yo soy ardiente, yo soy morena,
yo soy el smbolo de la pasin,
de ansia de goces mi alma est llena.
A m me buscas?
No es a ti, no.
Mi frente es plida, mis trenzas de oro:
puedo brindarte dichas sin fin,
yo de ternura guardo un tesoro.
A m me llamas?
No, no es a ti.
Yo soy un sueo, un imposible,
vano fantasma de niebla y luz;
soy incorprea, soy intangible:
no puedo amarte.
Oh ven, ven t!

Rhyme XI
by Gustavo Adolfo Bcquer
I am burning, I am brunette,
I am the symbol of passion,
My soul is full of anxious yearning.
Do you seek me?
No, not you.
My face is fair; by braids, of gold:
I can give you endless riches,
From my tenderness I guard a treasure.
Are you calling me?
No, not you.
I am a dream, an impossibility,
vain ghost of fog and light;
I am incorporal, I am intangible:
I cannot love you.
Oh, come, please come!

Things like that.
Usually with my other friends it is who is sleeping with who, who got 'busted,' who is a jerk, what classes 'suck ass,' etc, etc.
And the dean closed all of the party houses at our school, as well as increasing penalties of having/drinking alcohol to extreme levels, unlike last year. Parties used to be fun. Now they just a liability that I am not sure i want to take the risk of. His new policies pretty much forces people to drink and drive (as there is a state school <10 minutes away), and drunk driving is something I never want to be even remotely near. So it seems as though I will be attending extremely few parties this year.
And to make it much much worse, thats how I usually meet people, because I am pretty terrified of social situations.
Shucks.
