DAILY HOLDEN-O-METER:
Holden has been a busy boy lately:
1) I am now insured on my '95 Honda Accord LX and just drove for the first time in about a year. Luckly, points are slowly falling off my record. State Farm had dropped me earlier because I had two at-fault accidents and one speeding ticket, but luckly they agreed to re-insure me.
2) I have a good job lead to translate Spanish for a law firm and perhaps another third party. I have been playing some disappointing phone tag with my contact, though. She doesn't seem to return my calls after talking with her. Perhaps she is new or just scatter-brained? This job would be in addition to officiating youth and adult recreational baseball, softball, basketball and volleyball and donating plasma twice weekly.
3) I will be driving to Ann Arbor on Thursday (six hours round trip) to attend a job meeting and meet with my soon to be former brother-in-law, who will be giving me the keys to his new suburban home, where I will be living during school. My sister and brother-in-law work overseas and won't be there much anyway.
4) My family and I saw a white-tailed Doe and two of her fawns eating daisies in our garden yesterday.
5) I had a dreamy twenty-year-old named Amber cut my hair at Bo-Rics today. The sad thing about it is that I think she was interested in me, but I am moving back to school within a week. Oh, well. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
6) Lately, I have been experiencing this strange sensation of everything going well for me lately after a miserable past year. I hope that I can make this sensation last about eight months so that I can finally finish my bachelor's degree, because all high school Salutatorians should finish college.

Yo soy ardiente, yo soy morena,
yo soy el smbolo de la pasin,
de ansia de goces mi alma est llena.
A m me buscas?
No es a ti, no.
Mi frente es plida, mis trenzas de oro:
puedo brindarte dichas sin fin,
yo de ternura guardo un tesoro.
A m me llamas?
No, no es a ti.
Yo soy un sueo, un imposible,
vano fantasma de niebla y luz;
soy incorprea, soy intangible:
no puedo amarte.
Oh ven, ven t!
"Holden's Translation" (Please be aware that literary translation takes many years of study. Since I couldn't find a translation on the Internet, this will have to do for now):
Rhyme XI
by Gustavo Adolfo Bcquer
I am burning, I am brunette,
I am the symbol of passion,
My soul is full of anxious yearning.
Do you seek me?
No, not you.
My face is fair; by braids, of gold:
I can give you endless riches,
From my tenderness I guard a treasure.
Are you calling me?
No, not you.
I am a dream, an impossibility,
vain ghost of fog and light;
I am incorporal, I am intangible:
I cannot love you.
Oh, come, please come!

Yeah, I've been on board for almost 2 weeks...it's a lot of hours but a good experience. I wish I had more of a voice but I guess you have to start somewhere...We will be having a big party when we win in Nov...then it will all be worth it.

How did the meeting go?
