I'm actually not tired... it's amazing. 5:30 in the morning and I'm still going. Only on my second beer too! Awesome.
Anyhow... I have many different things to talk about tonight. First off... I'm really excited. I have an English research paper that is due next month (?)... and I chose to do it on Anarchism - philosophies, social implications, and presence in America. I sent some emails tonight requesting interviews from different people and groups and I actually got a reply back (really quickly) from Kevin Carson who is a Mutualist (anarcho-capitalism?) who agreed to do my interview. I'm very excited over this as his theories on Mutualism are very interesting. I sent an email to Noam Chomsky when first deciding what to do with this research paper and he sent back and declined to the interview due to an overflow of interview requests and the neediness to put interviews from press first. Nice of him to at least email back. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to hopefully interviewing the RNC Welcoming Committee who protested the RNC this year with a large demonstration, Nicole Salazar (reporter from Democracy Now! who was arrested at the RNC and had her press pass taken by Secret Service), and the principal of Austin High School to discuss the presence of anarchists in the high school system. I think that's the extent of interview requests I sent out... if anyone knows of any other person who would be of interest to interview, please let me know.
I'm half-way watching Across the Universe as I write this... it's such a damn good movie.
Anyhow... I'm interested in what's to become of the $700 billion bailout plan. Congress still hasn't come to an agreement and honestly I don't believe this bill should be passed. It should have been taken out of discussion the day after proposed... in fact Bush should have been IMPEACHED the day he, Paulson, and Bernanke proposed this plan. This is a direct assault on the American people! $700 billion dollars to "save" our economy... $700 BILLION dollars that will come out of OUR pockets and OUR taxes. Surprisingly the Republicans in Congress have been turning down the current plan in favor for an alternative that takes some burden off of taxpayers. This could be a diabolical plan from the Bush Administration to declare Martial Law and stay in office negating the Constitution. Tonight on Coast to Coast Ian Punnitt reported the news of the Bush Administration sending a letter to the British Treasury saying that it was going to call a state of Economic Disaster and will be suspending the upcoming presidential election. We ARE headed towards a regime. I can only hope that people will resist and will stand up for the right things.
Quite a number of people that I have spoken to, don't care anything about this country nor the current political status. Not too long ago, while I worked at Walgreens, I spoke to many of my co-workers about the upcoming presidential elections and quite often got a response of "I don't care". This type of thinking HAS to change. Our freedoms are being robbed behind our backs while the apathetic mass of people slave on with a hive mindset: Wake up, eat, work, eat, come home, shit, eat, sleep, repeat. The care of something better does not cross their minds as they continue to slave on as prisoners.
I am a prisoner but still CARE about things. Perhaps this ads as additional slavery... adds to the stress of everyday living. We are all prisoners of our own fears... these fears are caused in part by the media and the images that we perceive by things such as the idiot box. These fears are also caused by the government as it uses terrorism itself to "fight" terrorism. Corporations, government, media... all tend to tell despicable lies and curb the socialization of people in America. How many more people know the name "Bill Gates" than "Ghandi"? We are slaves to the monsters we created.
It's time to stand up for what's right and what's good in this world. It's time to take personal freedom and personal responsibility to another level. Let's join hands as brothers and sisters and change for the better. It's time to save ourselves before we are completely destroyed.
It's time to change.
