Great topic, @LYXZEN !

I've always loved to read, ever since I was little. I was always in the "advanced books" (some would read book A, while other would read a more difficult book B) when we started to read in elementary school.
I've read and enjoyed all types of books. From the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series to "Kiss the Girls" and the "Twilight" books. Yes, I know.
Out of them all though, I've always loved James Patterson the most. He writes these intricate, quick witted, murder-mystery thriller-type novels that you can just lose yourself in. I can plow through one of his novels in a day, easy. Two of my favorites were turned into movies, "Along Came a Spider" and "Kiss the Girls." I just love his main character, Alex Cross. He really takes the time to build this picture of each character so vividly. You really start to feel a sort of attachment to them, almost an emotional connection.
I really enjoy books that have a steady cast but different stories in each book. It's nice that each new installment in a series flow together so seamlessly.
I'm currently reading "Gone Girl," the newest movie-turned-film. I'm really enjoying it, but I've caught wind of a couple unfavorable reviews of the movie. I hope that won't be the case.
What are your favorite movies that really lived up to the original books?
Keep burning through those pages, and when you're done, let me borrow it ;)
