The Universe occasionaly decides to open one eye, look at what I'm doing, and laugh.

Too many more days like yesterday and I won't be surprisable.

It's kinda like driving to work one day and being passed by the Sistine Chapel ... total nonsequitor.
sabine:
that reminded me of the line from american beauty..
it's a wonderful thing when you learn you still have the ability to surprise yourself. makes you wonder what else you can do.
did you laugh back? like the rest of the universe is doing so great... smile

As I slide further and further into the Suicide Girls "culture", I start to see things I don't like.

Not that I'd change them.

Of the thousands (?) of members, there are bound to be people whose percieved personalities and/or opinions won't jibe with mine. Sometimes people I *DO* like are going to express things that piss me off.

I still support their "right" to...

I was at a loss as to what I should write about. This is the first journal I've ever kept that I let other people read, It's kinda strange to let strangers see that far into you (not that I've been too revealing so far). Let's see if I can handle y'all gettin' just a leeetle closer. smile

Six years ago, I met a wonderfull girl...

Well, nothing extrordinary happened today, outside of two strange occurances:

1 - I actually got some work done while at work!?!? I don't think it will be repeatable under laboratory conditions.

2 - My GF, my most recent ex, and my ultra-Goth neighbor/friend/sister-thing were all in my house at the same time ... and nothing happened! I expected to be locked out, shivering on my...

Well, today my Boss and his charming wife left for a week in Hawaii, taking thousands of $ worth of diving equipment with them.

I, however, am still stuck making $3 less an hour than we agreed on when I joined the company (I'm over a barrel, bad economy here).

He tells me he wants me to run the company in two years when they...

This morning I'm woken up by my cell ringing. I crawl around my room looking for it, although it was next to me when it went off. Aha!

Me: "Hello?"
Voice: *unintelligable sobbing*
Me: "Huh? What was that?"
Voice: *slower* "I just broke up with D ... can I *sob* ... Can I come over?"
Me: "Ahhh ... sure."

Now, I'm still not awake yet....

Ok, you know you've gone too for into the local alt scene when 50yr old men IM to proposition you. wink

My life, at the moment, consists of my job, my apartment, and the road between the two. The economy here sucks (not as bad as some places, but bad enough) and I don't have any $ to DO anything. SF is an hour away by...

In reading a lot of the posts I've made (and the phone call I got a few minutes ago), I seem to be playing counselor again.
Do I do it because I want to help people, or because I want to be important to them?

Sometimes the fact that I'm older than most of my friends bugs me a little. I get treated as Counselor, Father Figure, Dirty Old Man, etc.

Very rarely am I taken at face value, as is.

I decided years ago not to lie when it wasn't necessary, and to not play BS social games with people (I'm still social, I just don't tell many...

i'm younger than my friends and that sucks too. well, when they all want to go out to bars/clubs and i'm the silly 20 year old who can't get in.
when i was 12 my best friend was 54. most outside people didn't understand the bond we shared. he was a father figure, but that wasn't all. we could just really relate to each other-somehow-and that's all that matters i think.
i'm not social..so i probably have some people issues too but since i don't deal with many people i don't have to worry much about that. heh. oh well.

has anyone ever told you you look like Greg Nicotero...?
