I had the best day yesterday. It was my first day of work in the rain, but it turned out pretty well and I managed to get a lot of people signed up to support the SPCA. I had a record setting day for myself.
After work I saved a hurt bird with jSnaz. It's wing was broken, so we called up WildARC (the SPCA's Wild Animal hospital) and they came out to get the bird. They arrived within fifteen minutes and took care of the situation!
I realize I don't look anything like Bud Cort. I take back all previous claims. (Perhaps I was more Bud like when I was rounder and had the long hair? I've lost a lot of weight over the past year...) Regardless, Harold and Maude is a wicked movie. I'll have to watch it again though. I ended up having unexpected company (of the best kind) to watch it with, and I unfortunately missed certain dialogue on account of our own external dialogue.
Work today was perfectly mediocre. I didn't do as well as I should have, but all my awesome work yesterday means that I'm still technically ahead for this week (for now anyways). Maybe I can get further ahead tomorrow?
"Order of the Phoenix" is pissing me off. It's all the same Harry Potter goodness, except that everyone is constantly pissed off and biting each others heads off. It's got such a dark and stressful tone to it so far, and I'm annoyed because I keep having to read more.
By the way, I'm coming to Vancouver for a few days. "Paws for a Cause" is a huge SPCA fundraiser walk, happening on September 11th, and I'll be visiting Vancouver to do some fundraising during the event. I plan to stay the week after as well and just work for the Vancouver public outreach office. Maybe some of the Vancouver residents would be willing to meet the Hipples? I haven't left the island at all since moving here (July 2k4) so it'll be good to be on the mainland for a few days again.

You should be pleased as punch that you don't really resemble Bud Cort. He didn't age well and basically looks like hell now.
