Listening to: my entire music library set on random...
These tracks played in this order during the time it took me to write this entry:
- Tchaikovsky - Sleeping Beauty
- Broken Social Scene - Love and Mathematics
- No Other Way - Jack Johnson
- Just My Imagination - The Cranberries
- Drop Kick the Punks - The Faint
My birthday, in point form:
- Woke up at 11.
- Decided I had nothing worth doing yet anyways, so went back to bed until 2.
- Showered, straightened hair, got ready to go out.
- Went to lunch with my friend. We ate at Cafe Mexico. Food was only okay.
- Went shopping with friend. Went through several stores, ending up at Value Village. Bought a few things I liked, along with some cookbooks.
- Left Value Village with two girls that I knew. Planned to get bubble tea until we discovered that the place to get it was closed (for no apparent reason).
- Drove down a street full of hookers, making bets on how many we'd see. (I won the bet, being closest with a guess of two (actually saw eight)).
- Drove to a college out in Colwood where scenes for the X Men movie were actually shot. (Very nice area, IMO.)
- Sat in the car with these girls, as the less experienced one practiced her driving in a parking lot. (Too funny.)
- Went back to one girls house. She's both vegan and straight edge too, and she ended up lending me a cookbook (The Garden of Vegan).
- Got my hair further straightened by one of the girls. (This was girly time supreme... but just the sort of time I needed I think... I had a lot of fun...)
- The girls drove me back into town to Hugos. Nobody I knew was there when I arrived.
- With in a half hour, about 10 people I know arrived. The music wasn't very good (in mine and their opinion), so about 80% of them left shortly.
- Good music started late in the evening, although a lot of the songs I would have liked to hear (that I normally hear) didn't play. What's with the complete lack of "Arcade Fire"?
- Went with friends to pita pit after the bar.
- Got home. Went to sleep.
I didn't see anyone from SG there. Or nobody that I knew anyways. Nobody introduced themselves to me either, although I did manage to introduce myself to a few. There was one girl that I met who I've wanted to meet for a few weeks now. Unfortunately she's moving to Norway in a week or two.
This happens all the time.
I bought myself my birthday present today. The cookbook called "How It All Vegan" (by the same author as the other cookbook I'm borrowing). Now I'm broke till payday (tomorrow luckily).
I'm going to Lucky now for the Bloc Party listening party. As if the cd hasn't been out forever already... but I can't just stay home tonight. Feeling too melancholy to stay in.

Did you know that the author lives in Victoria? She and her husband own a tattoo shop there, too.
She used to be a member, too: fishbat.
