So I got a new mic in the mail yesterday and I've been trying it out today. I was looking for something that was present and very "finished" sounding yet not overly bright and annoying.
I think I found it in the oktavamod K47H headbasket on one of his modded pencil mics
it looks like this
and here's an idea of how it sounds. - All instruments were recorded with the mic save the drum loop (which is playing from my iphone). I even mic'ed my electric bass unplugged.
then I did just a little mixing to get a more cohesive sound - but the only eq I did was for placement and not correction - which is a big difference.
