So i don't know if I'll stay on this for 10 days - but who knows.

I feel great - no hunger pains nor mental complications.

At rehearsal tonight my vocals were spot on and I seemed to be more enthused than usual.

So this would be the first night in the "fast" as I went to sleep yesterday with a bit of energy from whatever I ate sunday afternoon.

I'd be really interested to know if anyone else has sucessfully and healthily completed a water fast goal?

Either way - I think I'm going to end up on the better side of this.

erm.. wouldnt be better u eat a healthy diet that be on water? u cant imagine how bad is that for body...now its using little energy and maybe u are losing some weigh but as soon as u eat something... (u will have to eat someday) that will be used and saved as a reserves cause ur body doesnt have a clue what the fuck are u doing with it. So thats why u might gain again easily

based on the information available to me, when your body's glucose reserves deplete - it turns to glycogen and ketone production as energy sources. The harmful result is possible liver damage due to the increased load on the liver - it's the chief organ responsible for producing both energy sources. The irony is that you can really hurt yourself when you START to eat again (obviously if you prolong your fast beyond points of safety - if your body start to give you hints of starvation - which means fat reserves have dropped below 5% and/or you are starting to catabolize essential protein - you will also put your body in peril) you do not want to overload your liver with a food that needs to be overly processed. That's why I'm going to come off this with a carrot- tomatoe juice - water blend AND then slowly onto veggies - tofu - and evetually meat again.

Now sure there are other ways to reach stasis in my body - BUT I'm really doing this for the mental benefit of quitting smoking AND to center myself in preparation for Law School.

I can say this - I haven't felt hungry yet - but I also haven't felt rediculously low in energy. It's interesting how eating is as much as a psychological event as it is physiological.
