Ok, lets try this again.
Here are the two poems I'm using in my book. PLEASE let me know what you honestly think. Thanks guys.
Poem #1
It's something that I hide
Behind these broken eyes
Lays the truth for these bastard malefactors
Who broke my will and left me to die
I cried every time
I watched these paths go by
Which one will lead me home
For the shredded papers that held these ties
To the only family I've ever known
Someone please fight for me
Just give me a room to call my own
Hold the hands of one left behind
I plead for a life for my soul
Thrown from door to door
Somewhere they were lost
What it was I was searching for
Abandoned in this childs prison
Bars branded in trials of lies
The six-year tribulation scars my life
Obliterate the watermarked lines
One more cry just becomes a memory
This isnt how its supposed to be
This wasnt supposed to be for me

Poem #2
she longed for a place to belong
somewhere, where she didnt feel so alone
somewhere she could call home
because this feeling cant suffice any longer
what doesnt kill her isnt making her stronger
but every time she tries to get close
she runs away from the ones she loves the most
she has no one to go to, no one to cry on
because of what she goes through
she's running out of people to turn to
she longed for a place to belong
she smiles but no one has a clue
she lives on these cold streets full of abuse
and the feeling to run, her system is never immune to
what doesnt kill her isnt making her stronger
and I dont think she can take it any longer
she longed for a place to belong
she can barely hang on to this thread she holds
she hates waking up to the days that unfold
she runs away because she feels its best
even though running from the people around her
causes her pain to infest
she wants to love them
she wants to get close
but instead she runs from the ones she loves the most
she longed for a place to belong
she stays on these streets in the bitter rain
her shadow, her only companion to gain
they walk alone, roads of the hopeless
even though she deserves more than less
all or none was her choice to make
even though she knew there would be hearts she might break
if only she knew how much she was missed
she only longs to be hugged and kissed
she longed for a place to belong
home being a place where she wont feel alone
if only she saw the love in their eyes
her actions of running took these loved ones by surprise
she could have had it all
but instead shed rather fall
fall away from the ones she loves the most
although she longs to someday get close
but the thought of their love brings her to another day
the fate of survival leaves all at bay
"Keep her safe God", loved ones will pray
wishing that she would have stayed
she longed for a place to belong
