Today I started writing a philosophy paper on the roles of the colonial gaze and the black body in Fanon's account of racial identity.

In relation to Fanon's understanding of the black body, I plan to bring in a discussion about the biologist Donna Haraway's cyborg theory, physicist Stephen Hawking's disability, and the comedy tactics of Ali G.

Who says philosophy can't be fun?

I would love to have a holiday in Scotland. Pencil me in for sometime in the next 2 years!

OK, then. Since I come from the "Land of Sky Blue Waters" ( a 1970's American beer reference that would mean absolutely nothing to you), I would be happy to bring along some mineral water from LaCroix or Klarbrunn, so you could taste the fizzy goodness that the glaciers did to this f*ed-up country 10,000 years ago.

Watched Breaking The Waves on TV last night. That really is one of the greatest films ever. Without knowing anything about it beforehand, I went to see it at the cinema (in 1998, I think). I was completely blown away! I just had to see it again and bought a ticket for the very next screening.

That's cool. Since studying philosophy at univeristy, I've found that my interest lies more in the social and political works of the Frankfurt School and what might generally be termed 'critical theory'.
