Last week, I was thinking about how my bipolar disorder used to cause me to face huge swings in mood, and how strongly these swings changed my identity. The late teens/early twenties are generally considered the phase of life wherein people find themselves, and its usually quite the struggle. As someone who is bipolar, that struggle was all the more difficult because my identity just refused to ever stabilize.
Ive since found a medication regimen that works well for me, and Im fairly stable now. Trouble is, the stable point is not what most would consider a normal mood; rather, its a hypomanic state. Im hypomanic right now, and this current level has lasted for about a two months now (incidentally, its what drove me to start this blog).
What follows is a brief description of my life when hypomanic. So, if youre curious as to what hypomania is like, or are yourself bipolar and are looking for something you can relate to, read on.

Other than that... Mixing prescription drugs sure is a risky thing. I wouldn't do it. But then again I'm not on any drugs other than contraception and I try to stay away from drugs (prescription, non-prescription, legal) as much as possible or entirely (illegal) as far as I can... But obviously everyone is free to make their own choices.
i agree, mixing drugs is extremely risky, if not downright stupid. i don't see it so much as something to take pride in, but rather a hurdle to overcome. i will admit that drug use has really improved my social ability and my confidence, but i've been trying to see them more as training wheels, i.e., the experience i gain with being sociable and self-confident will, ideally, translate into having that same sociability and confidence once i stop taking all these medications.
incidentally, i appreciate all the feedback you've been giving me, as it's helped me to see things in a more fitting perspective. so, thanks
