Well, thanks to my boyfriend and SG, I'm back!
Living in Edmonton now, not to shabby so far. Got a job at a salon downtown but it's not open yet so I'm currently bumming around at my parents place waiting for the construction to be finished. Being broke and having nothing to do is getting a little annoying.
I'm starting to concentrate on things to keep me occupied. The boy is involved in a activist group called ShEEP? Which is protesting the development of a new Wal-Mart on the east side of Saskatoon. I was in town this week and went to the city council meeting where a number of people spoke out against the use of public money towards an interchange that would connect to the Wal-Mart site. Yet for some reason the city councillors decided to vote for it, for reasons obviously beyond safety and public need. (Even though they claimed it was the reason and not because FirstPro gave them 2.8 million dollars. They didnt have the tax money to build it in the first place!)
FirstPro is the company that builds Wal-Marts and other big box shopping centers.
*sigh*
Urban Sprawl, Downtown decline and hurting local business don't seem to be an issue with them.
I'm working on the ShEEP? Website this week, trying to get everything sorted out and working. Should be fun!
