"One Time for Your Mind" Music Video Shoot
So we just wrapped the film shoot I was working on. It's a rap video done by a collaboration of Method Man, Motion Man and Gift O' Gab. It was the D.P.'s thesis project, but it was a very professional shoot and he's submitting it to MTV, so hopefully it'll make it in and I'll be able to point out what I did when it airs. My official job was Dolly Grip, but we all helped out with what needed to be done. It was cool because I learned how to load an Arriflex 35 BL-3 and an Arri 3, which are REALLY NICE 35mm cameras. I also learned how to operate the Pupp Hydraulic Dolly and the camera arm on it. I lost a lot of sleep because of it, but it was good experience, and I got to meet some pretty famous rappers.
Today (the last day of shooting) was pretty relaxed, and the whole crew had some beers. We were shooting in a warehouse up in the Presidio, so it was a really nice location. Afterwards, I dropped Don (the other Dolly Grip) off in the city and drove through the tenderloin to get back to the freeway. I had to avoid some crazy black people that ran in front of my car warning me to stay away and not to drive the direction I was headed. Now that it's 3:30 in the morning and I have class tomorrow, I should probably get to bed.
