I've had enough.
Been wondering why it is that I get so damn cold so damn easily. Unfortunatly, I live with my parents (trust me, I'm milking the easy life for all it's worth... making the best of it until I NEED to get out) and before we got our new AC unit, tthis place was an oven. Now my parents keep it at 73 or less ever night for hours and I got to thinking "Maybe I'm just acclimating".
But.
Yaz... fucking Yaz and Yazmine and Ocella. Went to an awesome new friend's house the other day to chill and vent. Ends up telling me her kindeys almost failed her, was laid up in the hospital for two weeks b/c of it... and the culprit?
Yaz.
Yeah, apparently, there's been a recall since August 2009 (I started taking it only a month after) and I've been elbow-deep in reseach since stumbling upon this wonderful bit of enlightenment.
When I decided to go against my previous opinion of birth control and hop on the band-wagon, I did so for many, many reasons. It was just time. My physician warned me of the risks, as did my gynecologist. But NOT of the recall, the severity of those risks, or the alarming frequency of complications.
I am physically inactive, and although there is a familial history or high bp, I myself have a healthy, slighttly low BP. I'm pretty good at calming myself down and controlling my breathing and heart rate.
HOWEVER.
Lately I feel as though it's really difficult to feel my own pulse and heartbeat. My body feels strange sometimes, and every so often, inside my abdomen, there are strange sounds and sensations (NOT always gas). I've been taking a nutrition class... and for some reason, in my studying, I became extra concerned with bp, salt-to-water levels in the blood, and nutrients.
Here's what I found out, coincidentally...
Drospirenone is a new synthetc progestin used in Yaz, Yazmin, and the generic equivalent Ocella. It is too new to be adequatly tested. It has the tendency to HIGHER blood potassium levels, inducing weak pulse and heartbeat, heart arrythmia, kidney failier, low bp, increased risk of deep vein thrombosis, blood clots in the legs, lungs, and heart, muscle weakness, lethargy, heart attack, stroke, and sudden death.
I got a TON of potassium as is just from my day-to-day diet (read: I am a monkey. Bananas are a daiy things for me... in addition to all the other foods I eat).
A lot of the girls suffering are 17 and YOUNGER. This is not right.
Bayer Pharmaceudicals is to blame here... I won't take it out on my doctors. But, NO MORE.
Found out the progestin in older forms of birth control is call Levonorgestrel. Now I need to find a form of BC that contains this and will work well for me... ai yai yai...

Problem solved.
