So. Where was I? Where am I? The weekends whir by so quick at the moment it's difficult to keep up!
Weddings
Following my step-brothers wedding in South London on August Bank holiday I had another wedding do the following weekend up in Nottingham. The groom was former SGUK member fpkk, and this time the event was rather more humorous and unconventional. The day started...

So, proper update time!
To those of you that saw my last entry, to explain my step-brother Stuart got married this Saturday, and a couple of weeks ago I went along to his stag do, which happened to involve playing pool at the Elbow Rooms in Shoreditch, playing Rock Band in the basement of a bar called Juno around the corner, and then heading over...

I imagine there will be, I shall keep you posted!
I played Rock Band with Jamie Cullum last night. He sang Eye of the Tiger and failed. Oh how we laughed. I wish I'd had my camera on me.

Oh so do I, I forgot how excited and full of life being in a city makes me.

That's what camera phones are for! Is he as short as he looks?
Hmm so where did the last month go...? *scratches head*
I guess I haven't been that fussed about updating, not because nothinig is happening, but because much of what I've been up to is a) unspeakably nerdy and b) unfathomable to the unitiated.
The last week or so I've been mostly absorbed in reading e-mails and books to get myself up to speed now that...

Wel that's another year done and dusted. The day itself passed with relatively little fanfare, and fortune shat on me in the evening when I tried to go to a pub in Victoria and they closed the tube station due to a power cut. Tsk.
Did enjoy sun, beer and BBQ the Saturday before though, and I fed my addiction for cinema with Coraline (in...

I'm still alive and all fingers are still attached although did get a couple of blisters and spent what seemed like an awful lot of time running away from bees, wasps and various other bug-type things.
opalia:
I'm looking forward to the new chapter.
BTW when are you going to update? Anything exciting happening?

After spendiing over two weeks trying to ward off a tickly throat infection passed on by a guy at work I then catch some quasi-swine-flu type thing from a friend. Five days later I'm almost back to normal. Being ill is rubbish, especially when it's enough to make me feel bad, but not bad enough to keep me in bed. Or perhaps I'm just too...

It is indeed.
And I would much rather own the boxset than a torrent, but needs must.

Happy Birthday dude.
Fortune smiled on me again for the first time in ages last week when I won tickets to see The Prodigy at Wembley Arena on the XFM Breakfast Show's radio phone-in. The gig was awesome, possibly the loudest event I've ever been too (my ears are still ringing three days later). I have my fingers xssed that I can make it two-in-a-row (again) by winning...

BSG is over. Gone. Done. Finito. It wasn't quite what I expected but I kinda like what they did. It makes me sad that there won't be any more, but I'm happy that they didn't screw it up.
So say we all.
So say we all.

I feel I've completed the set now by seeing NT2 though. I can also re-score Nic Cage on whether he's getting into heaven or hell.

I figure it's been a while since I did a movie recap/review so here's what I've been watching lately:
I'll start with the big one: Watchmen. It was good film, and a worthy adaptation of what many people said was a unflimable graphic novel. Admittedly it's cut a lot of the stuff from the around the...

Cheers man, I did indeed for the most part.
Heads up SG friends: I need your help.
My application for the Best Job in the World has finally been approved - you can see it here:

It's not perfect, but I think we did pretty well given the short amount of time that we had.
According to the notes on the site they will have their own selection process, but I am sure...

You're quite right. With every moment that passes I am slightly more aware that the relationship was more worry than it was good and to solve that I had to be distant. Hardly the recipe for success. Relief comes with knowing that I don't have to worry when his text will come or what his mood will be. I'm free. I wasn't worrying lately, but because I decided to give myself space. But that isn't how it should be.
I'd love to email you!

I've just added to my journal to point out that I don't really think that parents who smack are "monsters", it's just that the attack I saw was so vicious I can't help but start ranting about it.
