Argh so much to do so little time!
Saturday was pretty cool, spent the day demoing Star Wars miniatures (figs are brill, but the game is so-so) and the new Star Wars Risk (kinda cool, but some of the rules feel a bit tacked-on). Didn't actually get much opportunity to take in the show itself properly, and didn't get to take all the pics I wanted. Did buy a handful of minis though, the highlight of which were the 'Octopons!' (I'll elucidate later). Snacked loads of free stuff off the Wizards stand whilst packing up, and then got free dinner and Sticky Fingers down the road. Then caught up with some friends in the pub. Didn't realise until midnight and I was most of the way home that I hadn't got my keys (someone else from the show had them as they were using them as ad hoc tools). Panicked a lot, and after failing to reach most of the people I would normally rely on, I ended up getting a cab to pick up the spare set my ex still had at her place. Tsk.
Since then I've been prepping for the convention coming up this weekend. I've actually made life doubly difficult for myself by volunteering to run a playtest game of the official Serenity RPG by Margeret Weis Productions so not only am I scrabbling about to complete my costumes, but I'm also frantically rewatching the show and taking notes for emergency background material for the game. And engaging the game's writers on a private forum to make sense of it all.
And of course posting on some public boards to find some players on such short notice. Also panicking at my lack of lightsaber and pestering my friend to send the one he promised to me ASAP!
And talking of Serenity the trailer finally came out yesterday. Gives me the shivers and I've already seen the movie! If you've not checked it out then please do so ASAP. This could potentially be cooler than Star Wars and it deserves all the support it can get...

Though I'm holding on to my fool's hope that Revenge of the Sith could be the best one since Empire Strikes Back. I've even heard that Lucas hired a stage director to help the actors through the... well the acting.
Here's hoping!
It rocks...
And no, no news, but I think I got paid today and I had a brilliant interview this a.m. so... here we go.
