Well here I am again and it's Friday again, thank god. I'm not sure if it's the continuously oppressive weather but I've been a bit on the tetchy side today. Actually it's probably not the weather at all, more like getting stuck with a bunch of s***ty tasks today with not enough time to do them, plus my boss being totally oblivious to how under-resources and under-skilled we all are. Grr. It is bloody cold though, and it's not letting up. I wouldn't mind if we could have some *proper* snow, the kind that you can roll about in and throw at each other, rather than this thin layer that dismally turns to sludge before you can appreciate it *sigh*
I finally caved in this week and cashed my cheque. The big one from the game I did. I was going to hang on to it or put it in a dollar account with the exchange rate so bad, but looking at how crap my bank balance was (again) and given how much my credit card bill is going down (not) I just wanted the cash. Means I should be able to keep my balance positive at the end of the month, and maybe buy a few shiny things besides. Close to the top of the list is a digicam, as the one I acquired (kof kof) from my old work is a heap of s*** really. Apparently an Olympus EXILIM is the bees knees for a mid-range slim compact - anyone have any light to shed? Also need to put some aside to build a garden wall - anyone know anything about that kind of thing either? *shrugs*
I should mention that I did manage to catch Sideways yesterday on it's last day of release. And splendid it was too. Very well observed and subtly played, a great script, and a great performance from Paul Giamatti. Hopefully it will lead to better things for him, he deserves to do well!
And don't forget it's Mother's Day on Sunday! Will be swinging by home to pay my respects. I owe my ma a great deal and love her to bits, even if she does drive me crazy half the time. As for the rest of the next two days, I will spend some time pretending to be a Renaissance wizard, and also trying to finish off my tale of woe in the last days of the World of Darkness before Gehenna. And maybe playing some evil Jedi action in KOTORII now I've finally got my hands on it mwah ha ha...

It took me years of *saying* before I got serious about the writing. I pretty much woke up one day and decided there was simply no other way that I was going to be happy in ten years, so I set to.
