This weekend was mostly spent playing cards and watching the LOTR DVDs (again). Big wuss that I am, I'm totally sucked into the documentaries and the commentaries to do with the making of the movies, and at several points it brought a tear to my eye. For example. Viggo was such a nice chap that when one of the stunt riders said she couldn't afford to buy the horse she worked with (and fell in love with) he got it for her as a gift. Some very moving moments, and the I guess the camaraderie, community and creativity of it all just appeals to me. A unique and life-changing experience that I could only dream of being a part of. I'm not sure how sad or weird that makes me sound but f*** it *shrugs*

On the playing cards front I went over to a friend's in Watford and thrashed him and his missus three times in a row. Didn't do quite as well today, but still made the final round, although I bailed anyway to get home at a reasonable hour. And then watched the Faculty for the first time, even though the video has been sitting on my shelf for about 2 years. Wasn't half as s*** as I had anticipated. And Elijah Wood again! And that strange girl from Carnivale.

Not much other news except my work neglected to pay me so I was utterly f***ed for cash this weekend (one reason for not showing Sat night). Fingers xssed it clears tomorrow or I'm in a whole heap of trouble. Already figuring out ways to spend it (e.g. KOTORII or EBay tat) even though I shouldn't but hey old habits die hard...
