Well I'm glad to say my last-minute-Ebay ticket for Rammstein was worth evey damn penny. Bloodflowers has already mentioned how great the gig was in his journal. Flames, claws, cauldrons, fireworks, and other pyrotechnics. I'm sure a lot of it wasn't safe, and I'm betting the people down the front left minus their eyebrows. Nutters.
Finally finished my Farscape marathon, and although I was impressed with breakneck pace and the stunning visuals of the Peacekeeper Wars it's sad to think there no more story to follow (for the time being anyway). It s***s al over Enterprise, which has (thank god) finally been cancelled. It's sad to think you could probably get a whole series of Farscape, B5 or Firefly out of the $1 million or so Paramount spent on every episode *sigh*
I did also see the Aviator and the Assault on Precinct 13 remake over the weekend. Was dead impressed with DeCaprio's performance in the former (like Tom Cruise IMHO he's making the surprising move from fresh-faced cheeky boy numpty into quality actor material) and TBH I'd never realised quite how crazy Hughes' story was. Blanchett nearly steals the show as Kate Hepburn, although I'm not enough of a buff to know how much likeness she bore to the original. Precinct 13 was pretty cool too, mainly as it managed to arise above the cheese thanks to the solid efforts of Hawke and Fishbourne. I also at home caught a strange western flick called Purgatory which despite it's obvious straight-to-video quality (and inclusion of Eric Roberts) I managed to sit through it to it's intriguing inclusion.
Not much else to report from last week's activities. Still ruminating over my skintness, and yet still eyeing up potential lightsaber purchases on Ebay. Serenity preview screening courtesy of Fox Tuesday, possibly catching up with an ex on Thursday, and likely spending all day fixing my garden fence on Saturday. Exciting huh?
