Well it's Monday, update time again!
Wasn't sure whether to admit it, but last week I actually went speed dating! Lots of people were telling me to do it, and when a friend asked me to go (he didn't want to go on his own) I thought I'd try it for a laugh. At least to see if it was s*** or not, proof in the pudding and all that. Surprisingly it was actually ok - the people weren't as obnoxious or as snobby as I has anticipated and chatted to pretty much everyone without breaking a sweat. Didn't really click with anyone either, but then I'm such a weirdo it's no real surprise. The frenetic pace was an eye-opener though - only 3 mins to chat before having to jump tables and write notes it sounds easy but when you're there and under the hammer you sure need a couple of breaks to gather your thoughts...
Otherwise my time has mostly been focused on the hamster. I came home on Thursday to find him pretty cold and limp and thought that was it right then and there, but after some coaxing and some hand feeding he came back to life a bit. Now he seems to be almost as lively as he was before, although he's still sleeping more and the eye infection has moved over to the other eye. *sigh* It's amazing how something so small can cause me so much distress. I just can't help worrying that I'm doing everything I can for him - although it's probably just old age you can never be sure...
In other news I have been mostly listening to American Head Charge who're ace (about time there was a new heavy band on the scene with more than *one* good song), and also some Arabian lounge music I found in the bargain bin in Sainsbury's (which is bizarre but strangely enchanting). Also writing a whole bunch of games and running them for people (although in some cases it's entirely wasted on them). And frantically watching Farscape season 4 so I can watch the Peacekeeper Wars on Sky One this week...

For books/vids on tuition I don't really know where to start, is there anything in particular you want to learn or is it just a general knowledge of the instrument?
I've got a large collection of guitar mags (total guitar, guitarist, guitar techniques, guitar world) so if you want to borrow a few your more than welcome.
