Right.
Just spent two days of training on some new test system at work and have barely had time to go near the 'net for my usual time wasting antics. Time to play catch-up!
Friday was fairly quiet up until the point my friend/lodger rolled in at 11.30pm with two fingers on his left hand pointing the wrong way. He was so hammered he couldn't remember how he did it and tried to go to bed. I had to convince him to get a cab to Whipps Cross A&E and then spent 6 hours waiting for them to come back with his x-rays so they could try and reset his ring finger (dislocated *and* broken apparently). Ugh.
Got up on Saturday after only a few hours sleep to take one of the cats to the vets for yearly checkup and vaccination booster. Then snoozed for another couple of hours before rousing myself for my promised LOTR marathon. Fellowship went on about 2.30pm and ROTK finished about 2.00am. Hardcore! Several friend dropped in to catch the latter and needless to say we were all very impressed (I won't spoil it for you).
Sunday tried to catch up on the sleep but failed due to a) people ringing me (grr) and b) bored cats jumping on my head (tsk). Sat around like a vegatable for a while and then went to see my ma and was confounded to find she'd gone out for the evening (sigh).
Cut to Monday morning struggling to stay awake while a Ukrainian programmer tries to show us the wonders of a proprietary admin/billing/support system for VOIP calling on FreeBSD. After two days of that plus copious pro plus and dodgy sandwiches from the local cafe I *really* feel like s***.
And there's little respite with xmas looming and a heavy night ahead on Friday with some old pals from Essex at an alt/metal pub in Southend called the Alex. Goddamn...
